Conservancy 2008-09 Grant Program update

From the Sierra Nevada Conservancy
The Sierra Nevada Conservancy is pleased to provide this update relating to our preparation for the 2008-09 Proposition 84 Grant funding program.  We have recently added our draft Grants Application Packets (GAPs) to our Web site for your review and comment.  We had previously posted our draft Grants Guidelines for 2008-09 identifying the policies necessary to administer the Proposition 84 Grant Program.  These documents can be found at: www.sierranevada.ca.gov

The newly released GAPs are the companion documents to the Guidelines that provide specific instructions to the grant applicant.  For next fiscal year, the two GAPs are organized by grant type.  The first is named “Grants Application Packet, Competitive and SOG 1 Applications” and the second is named, “Grants Application Packet, SOG 2 Applications”.  Once an applicant determines which grant category should be utilized, the appropriate GAP becomes the reference document needed to complete an application.

The revised GAPs generally follow the flow of information from the Guidelines.  While there is some duplication of information between the GAPs, the overriding objective was to lessen confusion for the applicant.

We look forward to receiving your comments on either or all documents by May 9 by sending them via email to grants@sierranevada.ca.gov or by mailing them to 11521 Blocker Drive, Suite 205, Auburn, CA 95603.
