Member of SNC Board of Directors elected to CA Assembly

Congratulations Brian Dahle!  Brian, a member of the Sierra Nevada Conservancy Board of Directors representing the Northern Sierra since it was founded in 2007, has been elected to the California State Assembly.  He served four terms on the Lassen County Board of Supervisors, and brings long experience as a farmer and business owner to the Assembly.

According to his candidacy website, Brian’s family history dates back to the original homestead farm in the 1930s in the Tule Lake area of Siskiyou County. The present Lassen County farm was purchased in the 1940s by Brian’s grandparents and has remained in the family since that time. When his parents retired, Brian and his wife Megan purchased the farm, which is now operates over 2,000 acres.  In addition, Brian and Megan operate and manage Big Valley Seed and Big Valley Nursery.

Brian has been an important leader in creating and shaping the Sierra Nevada Conservancy.  He is the first member of this Board to be elected to the State legislature.  Brian will take his seat on December 3, 2012.
