Grantmaking

The Sierra Fund currently makes grants and loans to conservation organizations working to protect and restore the Sierra Nevada.  Since 2002, through the generosity of our donors and our partner funders, The Sierra Fund has invested more than $1.25 million of private financial resources in conservation efforts throughout the Sierra Nevada region. 

Our grant- and loan-making follows recommendation by:

• Our Donor Advised Fund clients, who request grant and loan disbursements between $1,000 and $100,000 to conservation efforts. 
• The conservation objectives detailed in our Integrated Sierra Investment Strategy.  Generally, grants and loans available through our ISIS Fund are the result of a collaboratively developed conservation proposal funded in partnership with the Sierra Fund.
