The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Deer Creek Cleanup Project aims to investigate the lasting impacts of historic mining on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) property along Deer Creek downstream of Nevada City.   Mercury and other contaminants in mine tailings on the site are being assessed, and options for cleanup are being evaluated.

The Sierra Fund is providing local outreach and community involvement around this project.

The following Information Repository has been set up to make project documents accessble to the interested public.  These documents are also available at the Madelyn Helling Library in Nevada City, CA.

For more information about this  project, or if you would like to be notified when the Administrative Record or Information Repository is updated, contact Kerry Morse, The Sierra Fund Director of Communications:  kerry.morse @ sierrafund.org, (530) 265-8454x13.
