Lisa Thompson

Dr. Lisa Thompson has a Ph.D. in Zoology with special expertise in ecology and fisheries, from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver. A native of Canada, Dr. Thompson brings both scientific rigor and expertise as well as a deep understanding of California rivers and fisheries to The Sierra Fund's work.

Dr. Thompson is an Associate Specialist in Cooperative Extension, Anadromous & Inland Fisheries, and is part of the Wildlife, Fish, and Conservation Biology Department at the University of California, Davis. She conducts applied fisheries research and outreach throughout California. She enjoys spending time in the Sierra while studying fish and their habitat, and also while kayaking, rock climbing, and backcountry skiing.
